VI - Player vs Player |
We are the Wardens of Ysera, defenders of the Emerald Dream and the Green Dragon.
We are warriors first and foremost. We will not surrender or flee from our duties. We are ready to meet the challenges as one, united and strong.
We are protectors. We will defend those in need and our fellow guildmates against the evils of our Land and of the Alliance.
We will remain as one. Strong, loyal and honorable.
The officer level consists of two levels, the Oathmaster (Dernes)
followed by the Oathbound. They are here to assist you with any issues within the guild itself.
The Wardens themselves do not have a true ranking system where one is truly above the other. We stand as
equals in our duties, with the weight of experience as our strenghts. Never look down on someone of
a different rank, always respect those who have been here for longer to understand any specific rule or
Warden quirk (tm). Special consideration is given to no one based solely on rank. What you have done for the
Wardens will always count more.
That said, the member ranks are seperated into three levels.
The Emerald Talons are the striking arm of the Wardens, members who have shown
their dedication to the guild on and off the battlefields. They are expected to stand in
defense of towns during major attacks.
The Emerald Wings are to protecting force of the Wardens and seek to heal and teach the Wardens, their friends and the horde as a whole. They stand to protect and assist on the aftermath of battle, and to keep the Talons alive during battle.
The Wardens encompasses the majority of the members that are
in the guild. Moving up from this rank implies a true commitement to the Wardens rules and the desire
(and ability) to spend time following them. We understand that real life comes first and as such emphasize
the minute difference between these two ranks.
Lastly, a semi-trial rank exists for those that have just joined us. The Initiates are not yet full members and are expected to show interest in the Wardens before being promoted. Initiates that join and
disapear for over a month are at a high risk of being dismissed from the guild. While this is a trial rank to see whether
the new members will remain within the guild, you are still considered a Warden and we will not act any differently towards you.
Being of a higher rank does not give you command authority over others. Being a leader should not allow you to force command.
We follow our leaders because we wish to follow them. They give us the same respect as we give them. They are not our lords,
they are our friends. While they do have power to chastise, in the perfect leader-guild situation it would not be needed.
You are higher rank because you deserve it. You can lose that rank. Please be a Warden.
The current Fearless Leader, and active head of the Wardens is Dernes ProudHorn. At his side is Jezrael. The Ambassador and relations officer of the Wardens is Margaritha. These are your officers, they are here to assist.
You are responsible for our name, do not tarnish it by acting out of place, rude, or with
any hint of racist/sexist behavior. How you behave reflects on us all and will influence how other guilds see us.
If the actions of one degrades the image of us all, then he/she will be explused after fair warning.
When in a party with others, be courteous and act respectfully. If there is a leader, try and listen to them. If you are
group leader, do not impose impossible rules.
Follow the NEED before GREED rules while in any party. Do not Need any item that you cannot use yourself. This includes items that are clearly beneficial to another
party member's class, and items that you have not trained for. Only roll for an item if none of the above conditions apply to
you and no other Warden present in the group would benefit most from said item.
If an item is of interest for one of your alternate characters, do not Need it.
If you really need an item for an alternate character, check first with all the other party members. This should rarely
be an issue when grouped with fellow guild members. When playing with other players however, do not always expect such luck.
If a chest is encountered, a simple /roll will determine who obtains the items. If you win a chest and find an item that
would serve as an upgrade for another party member, common curtesy would ask you to give it to them.
For all items found that are Bind of Pickup (ie drops from instance bosses), all party members are expected to pass
and apply the following rules:
- If the item is an upgrade for a single party member, he may pick up the item.
- If two or more people equally need a BoP item, a /roll will determine the winner.
- If the item is of no use to any of the party member, the item can then either be greeded with a /roll or if an enchanter is present, disenchanted for future guild use.
If you are running an instance for a single particular item, alert your group before starting.
If all party members agree without reasonable complaints, the item will be yours if / when it drops.
For Epic items that are Bind on Equip, as well as any "twink" and valuable items, the above mentioned rules still apply.
- If the item is an upgrade for a party member, he is entitled to the item.
- If no one in the group stands to benefit from the item, the item can be sold on the Auction House
and the obtained benefits are to be distributed equally among the group members.
- In the event the item can be extremely beneficial to an recognized and trusted member of the guild, the item may be stored in the bank.
The equipment one wears is a reflection of one's skill and, as such, an acknowledgement of the guild's
standing. The Wardens of Ysera aim to be proud members of the Horde, and while not all members are garanteed to be decked
out in epic gear, we will provide them all with the best gear and weapons we happen to come across in our journeys in Azeroth.
A guild bank is offered to the Wardens. We leave it up to
the discretion of the Wardens whether or not to donate items and / or gold to the guild bank. Donating items to the bank
will however raise your standing in the bank and allow you to later withdraw items more readily.
Items in the bank can be withdrawn directly from the guild bank. Members with a high standing in the guild
(long standing members, members who have donated repeatedly to the bank and / or highly active members) will have higher
priority access to the bank items than newly recruited member. This however does not imply that newer members will have no
access to the bank. This is merely aimed as safeguard for giving out valuable items to members who do not contribute,
stop logging on to the game early and / or leave the guild prematurely.
Every transaction in the guild bank is logged. If people start stealing items, the restrictions on the bank will be higher
Civilians are not to be harmed under any circumstances. They are not part of our fights
and their murder will not be tolerated. (( no killing quest givers ))
Honor on the battlefield extends to the fallen warriors. Do not camp their corpse and prevent them from returning.
Their is no honor in defeating a half dead enemy.
Do not be fooled however. If one of the Wardens is gravely wronged by a member of
the Alliance, retaliation will be swift and merciless.
As a Warden, your presence is greatly appreciated. If a player is absent from the game for
over 2 months, they will be removed from the guild roster. An in-game mail will be sent to them allowing them to
return to the guild within a month (29 days) with no penalties. After which time, any player wishing to return to
the guild will need to demonstrate their willingness to be active.
The above mentioned rule does not apply to any alternate characters present in the roster so long as the main character is active.
If you join the guild as an alternate, make sure to indicate yourself to the Oathbounds to avoid getting removed from the roster.
To be considered active in the guild, one is expected to play the game, participate in guild events when possible,
and join in guild chat and/or reply when adressed. Will not be considered active any members that:
- Log on once in a while and immediatly log off within 5sec - 10 minutes. We recognize the server is very good at kicking people off when they connect, but logging on simply to check auctions or have a "last online" date to be lower than 2 month will not be acceptable.
- Log on and play but never interact with any members. RP characters can be very grumpy and unsocial, but a ((OOC)) greeting is always welcome. Simply playing but never addressing anyone is considered rude.
Members that fall in the above category will be handled on a case to case basis. If you know you will be away for long periods of time, or are playing alliance side, notify an Oathbound. Your fellow Wardens will miss your presence and wonder where you are, and it could avoid you getting kicked.
Roleplaying is not strictly enforced on all but do keep in mind this is a roleplaying
server and that certain rules apply. When meeting other players, a /greet /hail /salute will go over much better than a "whassup?".
What you /say will affect how people view you and subsequently view our guild. This means you should watch your language and
grammar and not use short hands. This means that instead of using "lol" or ">_>", emotes or sentences
should be used. No one wants to read l33t talk. If someone needs to decypher what you say or insert proper grammar, then you are
doing something wrong. We are not asking everyone to talk in old english with flowery words, just avoid the commonly used internet shorthands.
We recognize that RP events can and should happen. If such an event forces you to break a rule set out by the guild, or to
turn your back on the Wardens or the Horde, you are expected to follow through with it to the end.
That is the staple of good RP. It is not an excuse you can randomly use to do stupid things and expect to get away with it.
Guild events will be occasionally set up, often without much prior notice but always at peak times for most of the Wardens.
If such an event is ongoing, you are not required to attend (unless noted otherwise) but your presence would be much appreciated.
For this purpose, the guild calendar will be used. Any blatant disregard for on-going guild event while you are online that is not
justified will be severely frowned upon. No one would be kicked out of the guild simply forthat, but a note will be made of it.
Within guild chat, you are expected to act mostly in character. This rule is not strictly enforced, but as you will see, most people use brackets to speak Out Of Character ((OOC)) and greet people in character.
Guild chat is not be used as a place to start long debates on random problematic subject, cause un-warranted drama with other members and use foul language. Please remember we have some very young members so guild chat is never to go above a PG-13 rating.
The Wardens also use additional channels, all of which are fully optional. Join and leave them at will.
Battlecry: a OOC channel for the Wardens and friendsl. You are expect to be polite and curteous in this channel, and keep in mind that we have some very young people in there on occasion. No blatant inappropriate behavior will be tolerated.
Be warned, this is NOT a LFG channel where you can spam requests. Ask once, not ten times.
To join, type /join channelname
The game will save this preference and automatically let you join the channel each time you start the game. To hide the channel,
open the chat properties and unselect the channel. Next time you start the game, you will not automatically display the channel.
To leave the channel permantly, type /leave channelname
If you encounter any problems with a fellow guild member, discuss it with them first. If this fails, discuss with one of the Oathbounds. Do not hesistate to contact Dernes if you feel your troubles are too grave.
If you are victim of an offense or have grievances against parties outside the guild that have a potential impact on us all, post them on the forum or contact Dernes.
Please remember that this is a game and that we should all aim to have fun. If you are not having any fun, then something is very wrong. Talk to a Oathbound and see if they can help. Feel free to make any suggestions that you might have.
We thank you for reading this far. While lenghty, this information is required for the smooth functionning of the Wardens.
The Warden of Ysera Council.
